President Jim Weidman
Jim Weidman was first elected in 2001 and is serving his fourth term on the LOCS Board of Education. During his tenure, Jim has served as board president, treasurer, and trustee, and has served on a number of board committees.
Since moving to Lake Orion in 1978, Jim has been active in the community, serving as a volunteer on the boards of the American Heart Association, Oakland Mediation Center, and Ronald McDonald House. He also served as Co-Chair of the Orion Township Library Bond Election Committee. Jim is currently a member of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Advisory Council.
Prior to being elected to the Board, Jim has been involved in Lake Orion Community Schools in many capacities, highlighted by serving as citizen representative on two search committees for a new superintendent of schools, and co-chairing the successful 2000 School Bond Election Committee.
In Jim's work life, he is a former educator and healthcare administrator and now a business owner. Jim has also been a high school and college basketball official for 35 years.
Jim and his wife, Cathy, have four daughters who graduated from Lake Orion High School.
