Trustee Nate Butki

Nate, who was elected to the Board during a special meeting in July 2024 to fill a vacancy, is a Managing Director with Root, a Part of Accenture, in our Talent and Organizations practice. Nate brings over 20-years experience (in-house and as a consultant) as a business and HR leader with expertise in strategy execution, workplace culture, leadership development and talent management. He has developed award-winning programs for telecomm and technology clients and leads the learning, media and technology team at Root.

Prior to Root, Nate’s work at Great Place to Work® Institute, producers of Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list, supported a team responsible for delivering world-class workplace culture consulting to the US portfolio of more than 225 clients. During his tenure, he helped develop and implement a high-growth talent strategy and supported the organization’s largest global clients. 

Nate also worked for more than a decade at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services in the Office of the CEO and in Human Resources. He initiated and implemented a regional and global approach to workplace culture assessment and improvement and led talent management. Nate gained early career experience supporting technology integration in classrooms statewide working at the Michigan Department of Education. 

Lake Orion and Lake Orion Community Schools run deep in the Butki family. Nate and his three brothers, and oldest daughter are LOCS alumni. His wife, Melissa, has had a number of roles at LOCS and currently teaches at Oakview Middle School. Their daughter Gabby is starting her senior year at Lake Orion High School. Nate is a former LOCS Board of Education Trustee and is an Orion Township Public Library Trustee.
