Vice-President Heather Sinawi

Heather Sinawi has been a resident of Lake Orion for six years. She was first drawn to the area for its local small town feel and school district. She was born and raised in Farmington Hills and is a first generation Chaldean American, her parents having immigrated here from Iraq. 

Her experience in public school had an incredible impact on the trajectory of her future and she believes that personal connections with teachers and coaches- some she is still in contact with till this day- gave her the guidance and care she needed to succeed.

She was a licensed foster parent for ten years and her youngest daughters are Dragons. For work, she runs her own business, where she supports adults with intellectual disabilities in their goals of employment & independent living skills. She has worked in this field for 17 years and started her career while in college at Oakland University.

Heather is a natural leader. She enjoys spending time in the community and is a volunteer coach for the Lake Orion Youth Softball league. She is a strong advocate for the marginalized and holds the characteristics needed to ensure all Dragons are included, empowered and seen.
