Welcome Letter from Principal
Welcome to Carpenter Elementary! I am very excited to be the principal of Carpenter, where a tradition of excellence is an essential part of our culture. Students follow the rigorous Lake Orion Community Schools curriculum, while regularly outperforming the state and county averages on state assessments in all core subjects (reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies) and achieving high marks on local assessments.
Carpenter’s longstanding tradition of success can be directly attributed to our excellent teachers and staff, our level of student commitment and engagement, and our parental involvement in the educational process. Children thrive in an environment and culture that supports and challenges them as individual students, fosters collaboration, and prepares them to be lifelong learners in an ever-changing society. As the principal of Carpenter Elementary I am committed to providing all of our students the best educational experience possible, while helping to ensure they reach their full potential.
I earned my BA from Western Michigan University, my MA from the University of Michigan, and my Ed.S. from Oakland University. Previously I worked as a high school and middle school teacher and Athletic Director before coming to Lake Orion. I was the Assistant Principal at Scripps Middle School from 2011-2014.
