LOHS hires Joel Schroeder as new boys basketball coach

Lake Orion High School has named Joel Schroeder as the new head coach of the boys basketball program.

This past season as the head coach at Pontiac High School, Joel led the Phoenix to a 22-3 record and a trip to the Regional Finals.

Joel was named as the 2nd Team All-State Division 2 Coach of the Year.

Prior to serving as the head coach at Pontiac, Joel has led teams to successful seasons at both the high school and collegiate level.

As a player, Joel played college basketball at Olivet College and at Rochester College.

His years of successful coaching experience, his ability to build a championship program, and his ability to work positively with high school athletes makes Coach Schroeder a tremendous fit for Lake Orion High School.

Coach Schroeder will be inheriting a program that under the direction of longtime coach Jim Manzo, won the Blue Division in 2017-18 and 2018-19 finished tied for second place in the Red Division and competed in the district finals.
