LOHS Staff acts quickly, saves student from choking

LOHS Staff acts quickly, saves student from choking
With 2,400 students, every day has an interesting dynamic at Lake Orion High School.

On December 3, it rose to another level as sophomore Nick Shuert choked on a bottle cap in his math class.

Fortunately for Shuert, teacher Randy McCoy and the rest of the LOHS safety team raced into action and saved him until EMS arrived to take him to the hospital.

The bottle cap was removed and Shuert was back in school the next day, with a story, a lesson and gratitude to those staff members who saved him.
