The LOCS middle school media centers have been working with the Orion Township Public Library to offer monthly take and make activities.
Students pick up a kit with instructions on how to make the activity on their own or they can join a Teams meeting to make the activity with the media specialists and other students.
February’s Take and Make activity meeting was held on Thursday, February 18. Students learned how to loom knit (also sometimes called French knitting) using toilet paper tubes, popsicle sticks, and yarn.
Students brainstormed different ways this knitting could be used—for example as a bracelet, necklace, belt, headband, or holiday garland. Everyone had lots of fun!
Keep an eye on grade level Teams for future announcements about upcoming monthly Take and Make activities.
