LOCS Robotics Team 302 advancing to world championships

Lake Orion High School Robotics Team 302 is moving on to the World Championship in Houston from April 20-23, 2022.

The Dragons competed at the Michigan State Championship from April 13-16 and they surpassed expectations, blazing through their division, APTIV. The team entered the tournament ranked 87 out of 476 team in the state and cruised past that.

The robot, named Cloud Jumper, was able to traverse all the way to the top rung, which helped the team place high. Team 302 was the captain of the 6th alliance and invited Team 1506 from Flint and Team 3536 from Hartland to join them in the playoffs. The alliance placed 2nd in their division.

After their stellar performance, Team 302 ranked 15th in the state. The team will now compete with their robot and for the Chairman’s Award this weekend at the world event.
