Scripps Civic Life Students Evaluate Sources

Students in Mrs. Mundie's 7th grade Civic Life worked with Ms. Lowe to learn why it is important to evaluate resources and the steps to do so before diving in evaluate a set of sources related to whether or not students should have homework. After evaluating each source, students graded the sources as red (unreliable), yellow (not the best resource), or green (reliable) so they could make sure they included the best resources in their final product. Students also discussed bias in sources and how authors may entice people to click on their article with misleading or emotion-laden titles and pictures.
