Students in Ms. Lowe and Mr. Colwell's eighth grade Empowered Learner classes utilized the Nepris platform on February 24, 2021 to connect with professionals in IT careers for live virtual presentations. Sessions offered included AR/XR/Virtual Reality, AI/Big Data, Game Design, and Autonomous Vehicles/Sensors/Drone Technology.  Some key questions were what students could do to prepare for careers in these areas, what a typical work day looks like in this field, and how this field will evolve in the future. In the case of the AR/XR/Virtual Reality session, students learned that the presenter from Verizon Wireless, Nidhi Bhatia, recommended students learn Python programming, which is already a part of their Empowered Learner curriculum!
