Waldon Middle School community creates 40 blankets for cancer patients

Waldon Middle School partnered with "Fleece and Thank You" to make almost 40 blankets for children entering the hospital for cancer treatment.

Students, parents, and staff gathered together to make the blankets and then record a video message that the recipient of the blanket will receive. The cancer patients will also have an opportunity to send a message back to the blanket makers.

"Fleece and Thank You" is the official blanket supplier of multiple children's hospitals in the area. They are committed to consistently delivering thousands of fleece blankets to warriors in the hospital, ensuring every child in every hospital bed receives much-needed hope and comfort at the start of treatment. These blankets are needed every single day to provide comfort to these cancer warriors.

Almost $1,000 was donated to make this event a huge success.

Waldon would like to extend special thanks to all of the parents, students, staff, and the LOEA for making the lives of these children just a little bit easier. Waldon and Oakview's You Before Me Clubs plan on another blanket-making event in March at Oakview Middle School.
