Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning
Drew Towlerton was selected as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning in August 2024.
Now in his 19th year working in LOCS, Towlerton has served in multiple roles and buildings while supporting the district. He spent seven years as a Business and ELA teacher at Learning Options High School. He shifted into administration as the supervisor of Learning Options and Adult Education, leading to his role as a building leader as principal of Pine Tree and Orion Oaks Elementaries and finally as the Director of Secondary Curriculum for the past three years.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a major in Business and minor in ELA from Western Michigan University. He received a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University and an Education Specialist degree from Wayne State University.
Personally, he has four school aged children who are active in sports, love the outdoors, and love Lake Orion.
