Summer Day Camp Programs Frequently Asked Questions

• When does registration open? 
  • Registration opens at 8 am on March 1, 2026. All registration is done online at https://lakeorion.ce.eleyo.com/ 
• When will I know if my contract is accepted? 
  • Please allow 5-10 business days for processing. You will receive an email when your contract is accepted. The non-refundable registration fee of $30 will be charged at that time. 
• What grades are eligible to attend camp? 
  • Camp ExpLOrion is for students who will be in grades 6, 7, or 8 for the 2026-27 school year. 
  • Camp Wanna Have Fun is for students who will be in grades 1 through 5 for the 2026-27 school year. Students MUST have completed kindergarten to attend Camp Wanna Have Fun. 
• How many students are in each camp? 
  • Camp ExpLOrion is limited to 50 kids a day. 
  • Camp Wanna Have Fun is broken down into groups of 25 per day. Groups are divided by grades. 
• How many counselors are with each group? 
  • Camp ExpLOrion has 4 counselors each day. 
  • Camp Wanna Have Fun has 2 counselors and 1 assistant counselor with each group. 
• What does my child need to bring each day? 
  • Sunscreen 
  • Lunch 
  • Water bottle 
  • NOTE: Please make sure all items are labeled with their name. 
• What day does my child go swimming? 
  • Both camps will visit the LOHS Pool one day a week. Date TBD.
• What if my child has a friend they would like to be in the same group with? 
  • Please be sure to list the friends name when registering for camp. Due to group sizes, requests are not guaranteed but we will do our best! 
  • Friend requests MUST be made during original registration period. 
• What is the camp payment schedule? 
  • The registration fee of $30 (non-refundable) is processed when your registration is accepted. 
  • Camp fees are processed as follows: 

    • SUMMER 2026 PAYMENT SCHEDULE 

      FIRST BILLING SESSION: 

    • May 25 Change deadline for weeks 1 through 3 
      • June 15 to July 2 
    • May 26 Invoices emailed 
    • June 12 Auto-payments run 

SECOND BILLING SESSION: 

• June 22 Change deadline for weeks 4 through 6
  • July 6 to July 24
• June 23 Invoices emailed 
• July 10 Auto-payments run

  THIRD BILLING SESSION: 

• July 13 Change deadline for weeks 7 through 9 
  • July 27 to August 14
• July 14 Invoices emailed 
• July 31 Auto-payments run 
• Is there a sibling discount? 
  • Yes, the first child is regular price, and any additional children will have a 10% discount. 
• Are scholarships available? 
  • Yes. If you need financial assistance, please contact Orion Area Youth Assistance (OAYA) at 248-693-6878. You can also visit their website to download the application. The OAYA website is www.lakeorionyouthassistance.com 
• Will I receive any newsletters or reminders from camp? 
  • Yes, each week on Friday you will be emailed a weekly newsletter with daily activities. The newsletter will also include reminders of special events, field trips, etc. for the following week. In addition, we will use the Remind app to send text messages out for reminders or last minute changes.
• Are there extra fees for field trips? 
  • No, field trips are included. 
• When will camp t-shirts be distributed? 
  • Camp t-shirts will be available at Parent Camper Orientation Night or distributed on field trip days. The date for Parent Camper Orientation Night will be announced in May. 
  • If campers forget shirt, there will be a $10 fee for a new shirt.
