When does registration open?
Registration opens at 8 am on March 1. All registration is done online at https://lakeorion.ce.eleyo.com/

When will I know if my contract is accepted?
Please allow 5 business days for processing. You will receive an email when your contract is accepted. The non-refundable registration fee of $25 will be charged at that time.

What grades are eligible to attend camp?
Camp ExpLOrion is for students who will be in grades 6, 7, or 8 for the 2023-24 school year.
Camp Wanna Have Fun is for students who will be in grades 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 for the 2023-24 school year. EXCEPTION: If your child attended Developmental Kindergarten they are eligible for Camp Wanna Have Fun.

How many students are in each camp?
- Camp ExpLOrion is limited to 50 kids a day.
- Camp Wanna Have Fun is broken down into groups of 25 per day. Groups are divided as follows:

1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade

When those groups are full, additional split groups will be added as needed. For example:

1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 4th/5th

- How many counselors are with each group?

Camp ExpLOrion has 4 counselors each day. Camp Wanna Have Fun has 2 counselors and 1 assistant counselor with each group.

- What does my child need to bring each day?
- Sunscreen, Lunch, Water bottle
- For pool days – swimsuit, towel, goggles.
- NOTE: Please make sure all items are labeled with their name.
- What day does my child go swimming?
- Monday & Wednesday – First grade, second grade, and Camp ExpLOrion
- Tuesday & Thursday – Third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade
- Can I make changes to my child’s schedule?
- Yes, changes may be made to schedules but must be done by the change deadlines:
- Changes for June 12 to July 7 are due by MAY 31
- Changes for July 10 to August 4 are due by JUNE 28
- Changes for August 7 to August 25 are due by JULY 26
- NOTE: Late change requests will not be accepted.

- What if my child has a friend they would like to be in the same group with?
- Please be sure to list the friends name when registering for camp. Due to group sizes, requests are not guaranteed but we will do our best! Changes after camp begins are difficult to make so please be sure to put your request in when registering.
- What is the camp payment schedule?
- The registration fee of $25 (non-refundable) is processed at registration.
- Camp fees are processed as follows:
- June 9 – payment for camp dates June 12 to July 7
- July 7 – payment for camp dates July 10 to August 4
- August 4 – payment for camp dates August 7 to August 25
- Is there a sibling discount?
- Yes, the first child is regular price, and any additional children will have a 10% discount.
- Are scholarships available?
- Yes. If you need financial assistance, please contact Orion Area Youth Assistance (OAYA) at 248-693-6878. You can also visit their website to download the application. The OAYA website is www.lakeorionyouthassistance.com
- Will I receive any newsletters or reminders from camp?
- Yes, each week on Friday you will be emailed a weekly newsletter with daily activities. The newsletter will also include reminders of special events, field trips, etc. for the following week. In addition, we will use the Remind app to send text messages out for reminders or last minute changes (running late from field trip, traffic problems on Stadium or Scripps, etc.)
- Are there extra fees for field trips?
- No, field trips are included.
