LOCS Life
Lake Orion Community Schools is a Michigan school district in northern Oakland County. LOCS features 7,000 students, more than 1,000 staff members and 13 learning facilities. Niche.com ranks LOCS as the No. 14 school district in the Metro Detroit area.
With a student body ranging from the youngest learners in the state-of-the-art Early Childhood Center, to the DK-12 curricular program and the post-graduate special education program, LOCS offers opportunities for all certified staff to make a significant impact on students within the school's classroom day.
LOCS support staff work in the classrooms and lunchrooms, drive buses, serve meals and coach athletics teams.
Due to the LOCS community supporting a $160 million bond in November 2018, the district is experiencing a generational upgrade in its facilities, from secure entrances in every school to new construction, including ground-up buildings such as the ECC, which opened in the fall of 2021, and a new Blanche Sims Elementary, scheduled to open in the fall of 2023
Compensation and Benefits
Lake Orion Community Schools offers market-level financial compensation, as well as medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits for employees. The district collectively bargains with each of its partner groups to find an appropriate agreement for the staff members.
