Student Device Insurance Registration Information

October 19-October 23

Enrollment process

Lake Orion Community Schools Technology Department has arranged a process for purchasing insurance coverage on the LOCS student’s computing device.

Any student who has a Lake Orion Community Schools-issued computer or iPad and didn’t purchase insurance may opt into the optional insurance program for the 2020-21 school year.

You may purchase insurance through the district by completing the attached application form and delivering it with a check (make payable to Lake Orion Community Schools) to the school building main office of your oldest child during the hours of 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. The device care information is also available.

By enrolling in the insurance, the Parent/Guardian is agreeing to the following statement:

By enrolling in the optional device insurance, “I certify that my student’s device is not in need of repair and is in good working order.”

Insurance is available for all LOCS-supplied devices, but families are encouraged to purchase the insurance given that in-person students will be transporting the device to and from school each day.

The online log-in process will occur remotely, after the family receives the device at next week's orientation days. There will be no payment on site at the school.

If families opt out of insurance, they are responsible for the full repair/replacement cost of any device issued to their student(s) that is damaged, lost or stolen.

LOCS will be notified of all devices enrolled in the insurance program.
