A design team is working to create a new bus loop, a reconstructed office including a secure entrance, a new STEM lab, two additional classrooms and six additional small spaces for small group learning.
The site will also have redesigned parking for improved traffic flow, including a new bus loop.
The construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2020 and conclude in the fall of 2020.
On Sept. 11, 2019, Lake Orion Community Schools' Bond Architect GMB A+E presented the conceptual plans for the renovated Carpenter Elementary school to the LOCS Board of Education.
Construction is underway on the site.
The administration met with GMB interior designers to discuss furnishings within the office space, but at the reception desk and also within the principal's office.
Chairs, cabinetry, storage space and layout were all topics as the administrators also chose color patterns that matched with the carpeting. (February 12 Update)
