Orion Oaks Elementary
A design team is working to create a new office.
Orion Oaks has unique needs for a new office to vastly improve its security where visitors enter.
The former office space will become a new STEM lab, one additional classroom and redesigned parking for improved traffic flow.
The team discussed the layout of the teacher work room, making it more efficient.
The construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2020 and conclude in the fall of 2020.
On Sept. 11, 2019, Lake Orion Community Schools' Bond Architect GMB A+E presented the conceptual plans for the renovated Orion Oaks Elementary school to the LOCS Board of Education.
Construction has paused due to the state of Michigan stay-at-home order. It will resume once the order is lifted. (March 23 Update)
The administration met with GMB interior designers to discuss furnishings within the office space, but at the reception desk and also within the principal's office.
Chairs, cabinetry, storage space and layout were all topics as the administrators also chose color patterns that matched with the carpeting. (February 12 Update)
