Information updated May 27, 2021. The announcement from MDHHS eliminating outdoor venue capacity limitations and mask requirements applies to LOHS graduation.
LOCATION: DTE Energy Music Theater, Clarkston, Michigan.
MANDATORY REHEARSAL: June 8 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at DTE. Required; graduates only. Use the VIP entrance. Graduates will receive and proof-read their name card to be read at graduation and receive seating assignments. Per DTE, purses/bags are not allowed (small clutches only).
COMMENCEMENT ARRIVAL:
Graduates arrive at 6:00 p.m. Proceed to the boardwalk to the west of the lawn, where graduates will be arranged in alphabetical order.
Doors open for general admission at 6:15 p.m.
All public entrances will be open: West, East, and VIP.
Commencement begins at 7:00 p.m.
TICKETS: Due to changes in Health Department guidance, tickets are no longer necessary for graduation.
SEATING: Graduates will be seated under the roofed pavilion, with one empty seat between graduates. Attendees may sit in the roofed pavilion or on the lawn. We kindly ask that family groups leave a seat in between themselves and other attendees, and that no more than 6 attendees per graduate sit under the pavilion.
Additional guests (beyond 6 per family) or individuals who desire additional social distancing may sit on the DTE lawn using their own seating or blankets. Seats brought for use on the lawn must adhere to DTE’s requirements: Beach chairs that are less than 12” from the ground are permitted. Canvas camping chairs, double chairs, or chairs exceeding 12” from the ground to the bottom of the seat are not permitted.
HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS: Per the MDHHS, graduates and attendees are encouraged, but not required, to wear a mask. Speakers and name readers on stage will not be wearing masks to aid in their ability to deliver addresses. Graduates and attendees are asked not to attend if they are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days, or have been in close contact with an individual with confirmed COVID-19 in the past 10 days.
LIVE STREAM: For those unable to attend in-person, graduation will be live-streamed through a partnership between Dragon Broadcasting and ONTV. Visit www.DragonBroadcasting.org to access the live stream.
PHOTOS: Graduation Foto will take photos, which will be mailed to graduates. The studio’s phone number is (800) 482-0321.
ATTIRE:
Graduates are encouraged to wear dress slacks and a shirt and tie or light-colored dresses, skirts, or blouses. Dress shoes are required—no flip-flops or athletic shoes.
Sunglasses are not permitted.
Graduates should refrain from placing signs or symbols on their caps or gowns. This destroys the formality of the occasion.

- Umbrellas are allowed, but they may not have pointed tips and must be closed in the pavilion.
