Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning

Heidi has been with Lake Orion Community Schools since 1996. She began her career as a special education teacher. After four years, Heidi was named the assistant principal of Waldon Middle School and, a year and a half later, principal of Waldon Middle School. She has served in her current role as Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for the past 10 years.

Heidi has a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University, a master's in educational administration as well as an education specialist degree in school administration, both from Oakland University. She is a member of multiple organizations, including Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, American Association of School Administrators, and Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals. Heidi also is a member of the Oakland County Teaching and Learning Council, where she served on the board for four years.

Heidi has presented professional development seminars on various topics at the local, state and national level. Heidi has been awarded Michigan Association for Middle School Educators administrator of the year, the MAMSE service award for school administration and the administrator of the year for Michigan Science Teachers Association.

Heidi and her husband, Doug, have five children, two currently attend college. She is also a member of the Lake Orion Optimist Club and enjoys running in her free time.
