SEI

The Lake Orion Community Schools Severely Emotionally Impaired (SEI) classroom is located at Pine Tree Center. The SEI classroom services students Kindergarten through 6th grade. The focus is on guiding students towards problem solving skills, appropriate social interactions, emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviors. The belief is that decreasing socially significant behaviors and enhancing appropriate behaviors will increase academic achievement. Students receive specialized services such as speech and language therapy, social work services, occupational therapy and physical therapy. Students also have access to various activities that include a state-of-the-art Sensory Room, physical education, art and music. The goal of Pine Tree Center's SEI Program is to transition each student into a comprehensive elementary or middle school.
