*Each day all players will be bussed to their respective practice location after school. 

*Families will need to promptly pick up their player at the end of practice.

Basketball Teams

*There will be two 7^th grade girls basketball teams and two 8th grade girls basketball teams for the 25-26 fall season

*Season practices and games will begin the week of 9/8

 

LO Girls Basketball League (Grades 5-8)

This is a basketball league for those girls interested in learning/playing basketball. All players that sign-up will be able to participate in the league. However, those 7th & 8th grade girls that make one of the middle school teams will not be allowed to participate in the league.

This will allow an opportunity for all girls within these grades to play basketball. Furthermore, it cultivates our program and prepares 5th & 6th grade girls for middle school basketball.

Practices will begin the week of September 8th. Practices will be each week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8pm at Oakview Middle School. Gamedays will be on Saturdays, with the first gameday being September 27th and the last one on October 18th.

Gameday Dates (Saturdays at Oakview Middle School 10am-noon) September 27 October 4, 11, 18

Cross Country – 6th, 7th & 8th Grade

Team information:

Practice is open to incoming 6^th grade students through 8^th grade.

Dates of optional practices: We will start/end in the high school pool parking lot at the Natatorium (pool) doors #5.

Monday, August 18, 2025 - 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.

Wednesday, August 20, 2025 - 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.

Friday, August 22, 2025 - 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.

 

Official practice begins Monday August 25^th however it is not mandatory until school begins.  We will start/end in the high school pool parking lot at the Natatorium (pool) doors #5.  To come to practice a few things must be completed first. 

A sports physical dated after April 15^th must be submitted to final forms.  

Practice will be August 25^th – August 28^th 8:30am – 9:45am

Wednesday September 3^rd is when mandatory practices begin.  They will be after school 2:45pm – 4:30pm.

 

It is highly recommended that athletes can run a minimum of a 1/2 mile without walking by August 18^th. New to running? Start by practicing run/walk method for a set time.  Example: run 30 seconds/walk 30 seconds for 10 – 15 minutes. If too easy run 1 min/walk 30 seconds for 10 – 15 minutes.  Try to keep the walk always 30 – 45 seconds. Hopefully you can build up to 20 minutes by time we start in August.

Water polo is a fast growing sport in the United States and students have the opportunity to join the high school team during their 8th grade year.

It is fantastic way for 8th graders to learn the sport, while getting a head start on acclimating to the high school! No experience necessary! A very patient and fantastic coach will guide the student to learn the game! 

Boys Water Polo- Fall
