National Junior Honor Society

2024 Application

Applications are due March 15, 2024

The National Junior Honor Society bases its membership on academic achievement and excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The membership process opens during the month of February to any qualifying seventh grader. Candidates that meet the 3.7 or higher GPA will be emailed an invitation to apply. Qualifying candidates must have a GPA of 3.7 or higher, excellent citizenship, service experience and leadership experience.

8th  grade NJHS members are required to:
~ Maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher
~ Earn Excellent and Good citizenship marks
~ Complete 20 hours of community service
~ Be a role model in all areas of the educational community
~ Attend all meetings and NJHS events

**Community Service Forms are available on the Informational board outside the cafeteria. Letters from community organizations or their representatives are also acceptable to document service hours.

Please note: Failure to meet the academic or citizenship expectations will result in probation for one marking period. At the end of the probationary time, membership will be terminated if the student has not resolved the problem. In addition, behavior resulting in a disciplinary referral may be considered as grounds for removal from NJHS.
