WHAT?

FOR MANY STUDENTS, KINDERGARTEN IS A CHILD’S FIRST EXPERIENCE AS A STUDENT IN A LARGE SCHOOL. KINDER CAMP IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE ENTIRE GRADE LEVEL, EASE SCHOOL TRANSITION, AND HAVE AN EXCITING, FUN START TO THEIR KINDERGARTEN YEAR! 

WHEN?

KINDER CAMP TAKES PLACE DURING THE FIRST 6 DAYS OF SCHOOL. 

WEBBER WHY?

CAMP EASES THE TRANSITION TO SCHOOL FOR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS, AND BUILDS COMFORT WITH THE SCHOOL BUILDING, CULTURE, AND ROUTINES. KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS WILL BUILD CONNECTIONS WITH EACH OTHER, WITH ALL OF OUR KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS, AND WITH SUPPORT STAFF. THIS ALLOWS OUR STUDENTS TO START THE YEAR WITH A STRONG KINDERGARTEN FAMILY BEFORE JOINING THEIR CLASSROOM FAMILY. CAMP ALLOWS FOR BALANCED CLASSROOMS - THE KINDERGARTEN TEAM GETS TO KNOW ALL OF THE STUDENTS, AND WHAT THEY NEED TO HAVE AN AMAZING AND SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL YEAR.

STARTING THE DAY

EACH MORNING, KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS WILL MEET IN THE CAFETERIA FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO PLAY TOGETHER. DURING THAT TIME, STAFF WILL BE TEACHING THEM HOW TO GET BREAKFAST (IF NEEDED) AND CONFIRMING LUNCH CHOICES. FROM THERE, WE WILL DIVIDE UP INTO THREE CLASSROOMS FOR THE DAY. 

WHAT WILL THEY DO?

ONCE IN THE CLASSROOMS, STUDENTS WILL BE LEARNING HOW SCHOOL WORKS AT WEBBER. ACTIVITIES WILL BE THE SAME IN EACH CLASSROOM. THE FOCUS IS GETTING COMFORTABLE WITH WHERE THINGS ARE IN THE BUILDING, FRIENDSHIP, GENERAL ROUTINES, AND FUN! STUDENTS WILL EACH GET A WEBBER KINDERGARTEN T-SHIRT (PERSONALIZED WITH THEIR NAME) THAT THEY WILL WEAR EVER DAY. PARENTS WILL GET DAILY UPDATES WITH PHOTOS! WE WILL HAVE LUNCH WITH A RECESS, AS WELL AS AN ADDITIONAL RECESS TOGETHER. EXTRA STAFF IS IN THE LUNCHROOM FOR THE FIRST FEW WEEKS.

WHERE WILL MY CHILD BE?

STUDENTS WILL BE VISITING EVERY ROOM AND MIXING WITH AS MANY OTHER CHILDREN AS POSSIBLE. THERE IS A BIG CHART WITH ROTATION ASSIGNMENTS, SO THE STAFF KNOWS WHERE EVERY CHILD IS ASSIGNED EACH DAY. THE ROTATION WILL GENERALLY STAY THE SAME, BUT WE SOMETIMES SWITCH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. WE STAY FLEXIBLE AND FOLLOW OUR STUDENTS’ NEEDS EACH DAY.

COMMUNICATION

PLEASE ONLY USE PARENT SQUARE. ALL THREE TEACHERS WILL HAVE ACCESS TO PARENT COMMUNICATIONS, DISMISSAL INSTRUCTIONS AND ALLERGY/MEDICAL ALERTS. 

BACKPACK

PLEASE CHOOSE A FULL-SIZE BACKPACK (NOT PRESCHOOL SIZE) THAT IS EASY TO OPEN AND CLOSE ON YOUR OWN. PRESCHOOL BACKPACKS WILL NOT HOLD EVERYTHING THAT KINDERGARTENERS NEED TO BRING BACK AND FORTH DAILY.

Webber Elementary SECOND GRADE SUGGESTED SUPPLIES 2026-2027

Dear Families,

As your child prepares for the new school year, here are some suggested supplies:

• 1 headphones (labeled with child’s name; will be returned at year – end)
• 1 standard-sized pencil box (8 x 4 ¾)
• 1 scissors
• 4 glue sticks
• 24 pack crayons, colored pencils, and / or markers
• 4 black dry erase markers (broad tip)
• 2 pads of sticky notes
• 1 composition notebook (wide ruled)
• 1 two-pocket plastic folder
• 1 two-pocket plastic folder with fasteners
• 24 sharpened #2 pencils
• 2 black flair pens

*Donations of one ream of cardstock, hand sanitizer, Band – Aids, Kleenex, and / or disinfecting wipes are greatly appreciated at any time.

As we get our classrooms ready for your arrival this summer, it will be helpful if you get ready for third grade as well.

Here is a list of school supplies that will be useful in all 3 rd grade classrooms, unless specifically noted.

Please label the supplies for yourself with your first and last name on it.
